Good Night

Sleep well dear friends. Remember…

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. – Isaiah 55:8-9 (ESV).

I have noticed recently that my Bible studies keep taking me back to Matthew 6:33 – seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you.

I’m finding this verse is firmly planted in the midst of all I (should) do.

Seeking God first means following His Word, His will and His way in all I do. It leads me to a deeper relationship with the Lord. It strengthens my faith.

Isaiah 55 proclaims the same message. Seek God and His goodness. Only God can give us food that truly satisfies.

To be satisfied with God requires following Proverbs 3:5-8:

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
6 In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
7 Be not wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.
8 It will be healing to your flesh
and refreshment[c] to your bones.

We have to recognize the absolute sovereignty of all things.

All things.

All.

Everything.

We can sit and worry and stress and get anxious about life. Or we can surrender our egos and realize God is God. We are not. God is all-knowing, all-powerful and ever present. We are not. His thoughts are far beyond our feeble, limited cognitive abilities.

Tonight, don’t let your cares roll around in your noggin. Cast your cares on the Lord because He cares for you. Take God at His Word. Follow Jesus. Talk to God. Embrace Him, trust Him and love Him.

You are loved beyond comprehension! Embrace that truth.
